Bennelong Group – our history

Bennelong Funds Management was established in 2001 by the Bennelong Group (the Group); its original aim was to manage the Group's commercial property and long/short Australian equities investments. Today, its capabilities also span across Australian equities (large and small caps), and absolute return. It remains a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Bennelong Group, a privately owned funds management and private equity business.

The Bennelong Group

Founded by businessman Jeff Chapman in 2000, the Bennelong Group has grown to encompass a number of thriving subsidiaries under the Bennelong umbrella.

With a solid track record across its various businesses, strong capital base, disciplined management and extensive industry experience, the Group has established a successful presence in both the funds management and private equity markets including:

• Crown Golf: owner and operator of more than 30 golf courses in the UK;
• Sportsbrand Media Group: which produces and distributes international sports content and programming for television and digital media broadcast internationally; and
• Crown Content: publisher of the prestigious Business Who's Who and Margaret Gee's Media Guide.

While the Bennelong Group owns and manages significant businesses globally, it also measures its success through contributing to positive and lasting change in the wider community via the Bennelong Foundation.
