History
Bennelong Long Short Equity Management (BLSEM) is a boutique, absolute return manager which manages investments on behalf of both fund-of-funds and private investors. It applies a qualitative stock selection process to construct a diversified portfolio of paired securities based on relative value, investing primarily in the S&P/ASX 100 universe.
The subsidiary was founded as a joint venture between Bennelong Funds Management and BLSEM principal, Richard Fish. Richard has over 22 years of Australian equities market experience and is supported by experienced analyst, Sam Taylor.
Investment objective
BLSEM's investment objective is to generate consistent returns via incremental gains and to avoid position concentration. It combines deep market experience with robust portfolio construction methodology to meet their investment objective and investor's expectations. The fund has over six years of successful performance history and features nil correlation with the underlying market.
The BLSEM strategy invests primarily in the S&P/ASX 100 and is dollar neutral at cost.
BLSEM won the prestigious Alternative Investment Management Association's (AIMA's) award for Best Market Neutral Fund in 2008.
